Graduate Programs in Dispute Resolution 20th Anniversary Celebration

March 26, 2007

Dear UMass Boston
Dispute Resolution Alumni, Faculty and Friends:

Download the survey/registration form now by clicking Alumni or Faculty/Friends for the Friday, May 18th celebration of the
Dispute Resolution Department’s First Twenty Years.  We are planning an event that includes time for networking and socializing, a panel of alumni speakers, and an evening banquet.

Since its inception, students of all ages have come to the program from more than a dozen countries, and have been academically and professionally involved in many, diverse areas. Our alumni have gone on to bring conflict resolution principles and practices to new places and contexts and have expanded the use of dispute resolution tools within their own professions.

The depth and scope of the program have been considerably enhanced by the many people who have been associated with it over the years. Each of you, whether you have attended the program, taught a course, supervised an internship, or participated in the program in some other way, have contributed to its richness of thought and diversity of culture. No celebration would be complete without your participation.

Clearly, there is much here to celebrate and we plan to do just that.  We hope you’ll join us!

We’d also like to use this occasion as an opportunity to support the program to ensure that its next twenty years will be as remarkable and visionary as the last. A DisRes Alumni & Friends Fund will help fund research and travel fellowships for future students and support the department in continuing to bring cutting edge speakers and programs to campus. We have designed the suggested registration contribution of $50.00 to cover the cost per person for the event, with perhaps a small amount remaining to begin the fund. Any contributions beyond the $50.00 should be in a separate check, and will be acknowledged by UMass Boston Office of Advancement and added directly to the fund. Please make all checks payable to
Dispute Resolution/UMass Boston.

Please hold the afternoon and evening of Friday, May 18th for a celebration of the
Dispute Resolution Department’s First Twenty Years, and return the Alumni or Faculty/Friends Survey/Registration form as soon as possible to assure your space reservation to:
