4th Annual Summer Institute on "The Art & Practice of Mediation"

The National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC), in partnership with San Diego State University, College of Extended Studies and University of Bologna-Rimini is proud to announce the 4th Annual Summer Institute on "The Art & Practice of Mediation".  The 2010 Summer Institute will occur in Rimini, Italy from June 6th through June 19th.   

NCRC has provided dispute resolution services and training nationally and internationally since 1983.  Based in San Diego, NCRC is the largest full-service conflict resolution center in Southern California and one of the most prominent in the United States. 

NCRC Summer Institute is a practical, interactive course which will help the diverse group of students integrate the skills into their prospective professions in a pragmatic fashion. The primary objective of this 45-hour mediation course is to provide students with an understanding of mediation theory and conflict management skills while interacting with other international students. Skills in mediation and conflict resolution have proven to enhance an individual's personal and professional life. 

The curriculum focuses on effective communication skills, business negotiation skills, conflict theory and mediation strategy & practice. Additional lectures by international experts will highlight the practice of mediation in Europe, conflict resolution in the European Union, international negotiation, intercultural communication and mediator ethics.
